This page is dedicated to the masters of grindcore, SCHIZO! Main members
are: Erich Von Baal (ex-Wizards), Krein Staltz and mysterious drummer "Manimal".
Schizo was founded in 1984 and released several demo-tapes until 1987 when
they disbanded. During these three years, they played a couple of gigs.
Due to numerous requests from their hardcore fans they
have reformed again in 1998! They have decided to make some of their legendary
tracks (from the first demo-tapes) available for download here in RealAudio
format:
Both tracks are un-edited and taken from the original tapes, so sound quality
is "raw". Particularly the session out-takes have not been subsequently
mixed, which explains the excessive use of reverb. The sound engineer was
sacked afterwards!
Schizo was, and still is, heavily inspired by Motorhead, Metallica,
Venom, Slayer and Bathory. This inspiration is evident
in the above recordings.
In the years between 1987 and 1998 both Erich Von Baal and Krein Staltz
were involved in various projects.
Erich Von Baal joined Death by Distortion in 1988, they are
currently working on a concept album, due to be released in 1999. Krein
Staltz has been participating in different metal/industrial noise cross-over
projects, such as Masters of Deception. "Manimal" has been put away
in a mental institution since 1992 due to severe mental unstability.
Schizo is currently working wery hard on new material and are
currently looking for a record deal. All offers will be considered. Demos
will be made available shortly right here for download!
